02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Lochend Football Academy is set up to provide safe, inclusive football opportunities in the Lochend community, within the Craigentinny/Duddingston ward of Edinburgh. We encourage children and young people to take part in football and general fitness, promoting health, wellbeing, fair play and participation for all, regardless of race, colour, religion, sex, sexuality or disability. We do this by organising and developing youth football teams, providing training and playing facilities, arranging regular competitive play through appropriate leagues, supporting coaches and volunteers, and maintaining high standards of safety, technical competence and child wellbeing. We also work to make our club facilities accessible to the local community and seek funding to support the club’s charitable activities.

Constitutional objectives
The Club will further the following charitable purposes:- 2.1.1 To provide a safe environment and to encourage and promote the development of football and health through the provision of youth (or senior) teams for boys and girls that foster fair play and participation for all, irrespective of race, colour, religion, sex, sexuality or disabilities.
