02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
The charity's objects are the prevention of poverty, the advancement of education, religion, health, citizenship or community development, arts, heritage culture or science, public participation in sport, the saving of lives, the provision of recreational facilities and the promotion of diversity. The policies adopted in furtherance of these objects are to hold the Trust Fund and the income of it to pay and apply the same to or for the benefit of or in furtherance of such charitable purposes or charitable institutions in such proportions and manner as the Trustees shall think fit.

Constitutional objectives
The Trustees shall hold the Trust Fund and the income of it to pay and apply the same to or for the benefit of or in furtherance of such charitable purposes or charitable institutions in such proportions and manner as the Trustees shall think fit. In exercising their discretion in terms of this Clause the Trustees shall give primary consideration to the wishes of those persons who have gifted or lent funds to the Trust but this proviso shall impose no binding obligation on the Trustees. 'charitable purpose' shall mean a charitable purpose under section 7 of the 2005 Act which is also regarded as a charitable purpose in relation to the application of the Taxes Acts. 'charitable institution' shall mean (i) a charity in terms of the 2005 Act which is also regarded as a charity in relation to the application of the Taxes Acts. or (ii) a charity under the law of any other jurisdiction which is also regarded as a charity in relation to the application of the Taxes Acts, provided that nothing in these presents shall authorise an application of the property of the Trust other than in furtherance of a charitable purpose
