02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
The Centre serves the community of Bonawe by providing a space for activities such as tearooms, workshops, community council meetings and polling station. A wide range of activities are organised to suit the diverse community. an annual ferry-crossing. the Canteen is long-term rented by an artist working internationally. the walled garden is used for bonfires and foraging and educational activities. the poly-tunnel by local gardeners. the main building accommodates tearooms, ceramic and printmaking classes/courses. playgroup. home education group. beach-clean/climate/enviro/place meetings/ research. misc hire of premises. Hogmanay bashes. craft fairs. green hub meetings. music rehearsals. photography club. cinema nights. tearoom. yoga/pilates. walking club etc.

Constitutional objectives
The company has been formed to benefit principally the community of that part of Argyll and Bute which comprises the postcode districts PA35 and PA37 ('the Community') with the following objects: (1) The advancement of community development (including the advancement of rural regeneration) principally within the Community. (2) To advance culture, the arts, and heritage principally within the community. and (3) To advance the provision of recreational facilities, or the organisation of recreational facilities, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the persons for whom the facilities or activities are primarily intended, principally within the community. But only to the extent that the above purposes are consistent with furthering the achievement of sustainable development
