02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Inclusive Orkney is a fully registered charity that was set up to support and create inclusive opportunities for children with additional needs and their families in Orkney. We also aim to provide comprehensive signposting to services, work collaboratively with key partners to deliver arts, sports, music and theatrical opportunities through support sessions and raise awareness of additional support needs and play an active role in the wider community. We put in place a range of activities for children and their families such as monthly weekend clubs, term time and holiday activities, picnics and Christmas parties. We work in collaboration with the Active Schools Team to put in place a range of sporting opportunities for children. We run quarterly parents/carers activities to allow parents and carers an opportunity to have some fun and offer each other support if and when necessary. We run annual fundraising activities such as coffee mornings and a stall at the county show.
