02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
OCA SCIO exists to improve the quality of life for people living in the Parish of Oldhamstocks by supporting community development and providing recreational, social, and environmental opportunities. We do this by developing and maintaining facilities for community use, including the new Village Hall project, which will provide a long-term meeting place for residents and local groups. We support and encourage a wide range of activities that bring people together, promote wellbeing and strengthen community spirit, including local events and environmental initiatives. We work with volunteers to improve shared community spaces and enhance the local environment. Through careful management of community benefit funds, we ensure resources are available to support local projects, facilities and services. In addition, we provide grants and donations to local organisations and initiatives that contribute to the social, recreational and community wellbeing of the Parish.
