02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Falling UP is a holistic option for a deepening crisis in mental wellbeing. We aim to introduce into Scotland an innovative art, mental illness & recovery model of sustainable healthcare through artistic lifestyles within culture. Our model is based on the renowned House of Artists psychiatric facility in Gugging, Austria. As an art collective we facilitate socially integrated artistic collaborations for all levels of mental health. We provide psychological & physical relief by creating bespoke creative pathways towards improved wellbeing for individuals & groups. We aim to achieve this by using Falling UP recovery processes, which are inspired by Gugging. Falling UP promotes inclusion, equality, destigmatisation, arts development & neurodiversity to foster participants' cultural contribution to society. Through our practices we want to grow new conversations that lead to grassroots action to improve the landscape of mental wellbeing for everyone in Scotland.
