02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

Buttons & Bows Baby Bank supports families on low incomes and struggling with poverty. The families we work with are either referred by professionals such as Health Visitors, Teachers etc, as we support families with children who are aged from birth to 7. We support them by giving free equipment, food, clothes and toys, all of which are donated to us, apart from items that must be bought new, for example, cot mattresses. We can often signpost to other organisations that may offer other help that is needed. Poverty is not restricted to the unemployed. many of our parents and carers are employed on low salaries so we partner with the local council, Welfare Rights, CAB etc to ensure our families get the best outcome in they individual situations.
