Constitutional objectives
The company has been formed to benefit principally the community of Dumfriesshire East which comprises Eskdalemuir, Langholm, Lockerbie, North Milk, Middlebie and Waterbeck ('the Community') with the following objects: 4.1 The advancement of community development (including the advancement of rural regeneration) principally within the Community. 4.2 The prevention and/or relief of poverty principally among residents of the Community. 4.3 The advancement of education principally within the Community. 4.4 The advancement of health principally within the Community. 4.5 The advancement of the arts, heritage culture and science principally within the Community. 4.6 The advancement of public participation in sport, principally within the Community. 4.7 The provision of recreational facilities, in particular with a view to improving the conditions of life for the residents of the Community. 4.8 The advancement of environmental protection and/or improvement, specifically in building resilience against the effects of climate change and helping nature to deliver benefits to the Community, principally within the Community. 4.9 The relief of those in need by reason of age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage, principally among residents of the Community. and 4.10 The advancement of animal welfare, principally within the Community.
