02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Our purposes, as recorded in our Constitution, are to promote animal welfare, specifically to abandoned and stray cats through the provision of shelter, veterinary attention, rehabilitation, rehoming and advancing the education of the public in the essential needs of cats. We raise funds through tombolas & raffles, as well as through seeking donations. We pay vet bills to help stray cats, and also in some circumstances to directly fund vet treatment of domestic cats whose owners were in financial difficulty. This includes the neutering of cats. We also house stray cats ourselves while they are being treated and to rehabilitate them for rehoming.
