02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Our charity is established to support and strengthen the Scottish Bangladeshi community across Scotland through activities that promote community cohesion, health and wellbeing, and education for young people. We aim to bring people together, celebrate cultural heritage, and encourage greater understanding between the Scottish Bangladeshi community and the wider communities of Scotland. We achieve these objectives by organising cultural events and community programmes throughout the year, including national and cultural celebrations, webinars, and in-person activities. We promote health and wellbeing through awareness sessions, online webinars, and community engagement activities. We also support children and young people by providing online Bangla language classes, educational activities, and family learning opportunities such as educational excursions and safari trips.

Constitutional objectives
4 The organisation's purposes are: (4.1) To promote social cohesion and cross-cultural awareness between the Scottish Bangladeshi community and other communities across Scotland by organizing regular national and cultural events throughout the year. (4.2) To promote health and wellbeing of the Scottish Bangladeshi community across Scotland by organizing activities covering physical sports and mindfulness sessions. (4.3) To provide social education to the young generations (under 16) from the Scottish Bangladeshi community across Scotland by organizing Bengali Language classes, educational excursions and activities on contemporary environmental issues.
