02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

PICTS is a Scottish charity dedicated to reducing poverty, supporting wellbeing, and strengthening community resilience. We do this by providing practical, stigma-free support through our Community Hub, where people can access food, clothing, care packs, social connection, and wellbeing help. Our Veterans Section offers a welcoming space run by veterans for veterans, with essentials, guidance, and community. Our Outreach Team meets people where they are—on the streets and in shelters—offering warmth, meals, essentials, and human connection. We also support families through Wee Yins, providing baby essentials for new-borns. The Dora Community Orchard brings people together to nurture wellbeing, learn skills, and build sustainable community spaces. Across all our work, we focus on dignity, inclusion, and long-lasting change.
