What the charity exists to do
The Haven’s role is to promote wellbeing for social change by helping individuals and communities feel supported, included and connected. Its charitable purposes include: (i) preventing or relieving poverty through access to affordable healthy food (ii) advancing physical and mental health (iii) providing education on food, nutrition, cooking and self-care (iv) strengthening community development and volunteering (v) reducing food waste and raising environmental awareness This aligns with its vision of flourishing communities where everyone feels supported, included and belongs.

Constitutional objectives
4.1 The prevention or relief of poverty through supporting sustainable provision of affordable healthy food to people living in Kincardine and Mearns surrounding areas, primarily those with a low income. 4.2 The advancement of health by providing activities to improve physical and mental health and well-being of individuals and groups in the community through indoor and outdoor activities. 4.3 The advancement of education through the provision of classes, advice and information about food and nutrition, food growing, cooking skills and self-care. 4.4 The advancement of community development and promotion of volunteering opportunities particularly for those who are isolated or marginalised. 4.5 The advancement of environmental protection by promoting the reduction of food waste and by raising public awareness of the adverse environmental impacts of waste.
