02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

We will establish and develop a community led local radio project, which will be a not for profit organisation dedicated to serving the local community. We will deliver community programming reflecting the area’s unique blend of diverse interests, culture and identity. We will work to reach all segments of the community with our radio station hub located in the heart of the town giving access to local people so they can contribute to our focused educational and entertainment content. We will give local people from all backgrounds the opportunity to make and broadcast their own programmes to the communities in which they live, allowing us to use community radio as a means of empowerment and personal development. Our ‘people power’ will provide a community information platform accessible to all groups and individuals who share our vision of inclusion, environmental awareness and progressive ideas.
