02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

PlayPeace was founded by parents of kids with additional support needs due to the absence of safe places and opportunities for children with additional support needs in North Lanarkshire. Proudly parent led, we offer opportunities for fun, friendships and support all year round through various programmes of activity. Families of any child or young person with additional support needs (diagnosed or undiagnosed) can attend, along with brothers and sisters. A responsible adult or carer is required to attend the sessions with their children or young people. We are at present a small but ambitious charity, offering quality services that set out to remove all barriers to participation. We don’t have our own base, instead hiring out various community venues where we offer our services.
