02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

We held the annual programme with the grant received from The National lottery community fund and attracted 175+ guests from all across Scotland. There were multiple on/offline workshops which culminated in the final showcasing of an opera. The most engaging part of our program was the poster presentation from 8-18-year-olds, judged by eminent Tagore experts and attended and applauded by parents, community members and dignitaries. This open to all project was promoted on our social media platform. To conclude our project we were proud and privileged to host Tagore’s 164th birthday celebration on 9th May 2025 in Glasgow. The Consul General of India praised our efforts and commitment for vigorous community participation. Renowned Boyd from India, presented poetry and songs of Tagore and discussed his contribution in contemporary Bengali literature. We plan to host literary event, workshop and presentation for the propagation of Tagore’s philosophy and work to our younger generation.
