What the charity exists to do
Both of our innovative programmes connect young people to their communities: as mentors to children in need of extra support, and by creating youth-led projects In the Community.

Constitutional objectives
3.1 The charitable purposes of the SCIO ('the Charitable Purposes') are to nurture and support young people to fulfil their potential through tested therapeutic or community-centred models, and contribute to stronger communities, in particular the SCIO aims to: 3.1.1 advance education through the delivery of programmes that provide a holistic psychological approach, using mental and emotional learning which focuses on enabling young people to access more of their potential, develop life-skills, self-awareness and personal responsibility and positively engage with society. 3.1.2 prevent or relieve poverty through empowering young people through the delivery of training, education, community initiatives, and providing a mechanism to make a difference and address and mitigate disadvantage. 3.1.3 advancement of community development through the delivery of programmes which seeks to offer personal development to young people to unlock potential, encourage them to engage in and make a difference in their communities. 3.1.4 the relief of those in need, by providing programmes for young people that promote the preservation of mental health and encourage good health and well-being.
