Constitutional objectives

4The Organisation has been formed to benefit the community of racially minoritised and other under-represented women, and their families, across Scotland who share an interest in improving their confidence, wellbeing and life chances, overcoming poverty and discrimination, building skills for work and education, expressing their stories and culture through creative activity, and feeling more included, connected and supported in Scottish society, with the following purposes 4.1 The organisation’s purposes are: The relief of those in need by reason of age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage, The prevention or relief of poverty, The advancement of education, The advancement of the arts, culture, heritage or science for African and ethnic minority women across Scotland. 4.2 To promote confidence building and resilience skills for African and ethnic minority women across Scotland by providing trainings and workshops that promote positive mindsets and positive mental attitudes. 4.3 To promote employability by providing employability skills – Work Readiness, Digital & social media Skills, Creative skills, CV Writing, Interview Skills, Ms Office Skills, for ethnic minority women from across Scotland who are experiencing barriers to employment in the advancement of education. 4.4 To reduce the stigma attached to mental health issues for the racially minoritised communities across Scotland by promoting positive mental health, well-being and providing relief to children/young people and women within the ethnic minority community through a variety of activities that will bring them together to support their mental well-being & equip them with the skills to reach their potential. 4.5 To raise awareness of menopause and its impact on mental health for women in the ethnic minority communities across Scotland. This will include educational campaigns and workshops that promote open discussions, support mental well-being, and offer strategies for managing the challenges associated with menopause. 4.6 The prevention or relief of poverty or financial hardship for marginalised and deprived communities across Scotland by providing items and services to individuals and families in need and assisting ethnic minority Families in the provision of education, training, projects and all the necessary support designed to enable individuals to generate a sustainable income and be self-sufficient. 4.7 To promote equality and diversity through antiracism trainings and workshops, social media campaigns and human rights training towards the elimination of discrimination on the grounds of race, knowledge, and mutual understanding between different racial groups across Scotland. 4.8 To raise awareness of and encourage participation in the production of creative programmes about mental health and other well-being issues affecting the people from ethnic minority backgrounds across Scotland. 4.9 To promote inclusion by working to reduce loneliness and social isolation by providing activities that connect people across nationalities and bring families together to foster the development of closer, supportive, age appropriate relationships mainly within people from minority backgrounds across Scotland. 4.10 To provide coaching, mentoring, integration, and networking opportunities for African and ethnic minority women across Scotland to help them thrive and succeed. This will include creating platforms for personal and professional growth, equipping participants with the necessary tools and connections to build confidence, integrate into society, and reach their full potential.
