02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
The garden is set up to provide a lovely space for relaxation, mental well-being and all the physical aspects of gardening through sowing, reaping and providing produce for the local businesses and community. It is also a recreational space for adults and children to enjoy, socialize and learn gardening skills, encouraging everyone to be involved in some way in their community garden. The different aspects of the garden are emerging from a sensory garden space, with growing beds, and a polytunnel area. The paths and walkways are designed to allow everyone access. Community events are held during the year, Easter egg hunt, bonfire and Christmas themed gatherings.
