02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

The SCIO is set up to improve and extend the local path network and connect communities by means of safe active travel routes. This involves advancing community development & wellbeing and environmental improvement. We work in partnership with national agencies, the local authority, community councils, community groups and individuals to achieve our objectives. Our activities include liaison and negotiation with land managers, securing funding for route development and path maintenance, provision of ebikes & conventional bikes through our Oldmeldrum Community ebikes project and publication of route publicity materials.

(d) The advancement of environmental improvement.
