02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

The Scheme Livi is set up to support people from West Lothian who are or have suffered through financial deprivation or who have experienced or are impacted by drug and/or alcohol addiction, trauma, mental health or social isolation/deprivation. The charity aims to assist in the improvement of their health and well being through the provision of free creative workshops including drama and art. They also offer a drop in facility and provide outreach.

Constitutional objectives

4. The organisation's purposes are: (a) The advancement of health and wellbeing of the people of West Lothian who are financially deprived and/or subject to drug and/or alcohol addiction with the view to aiding their recovery from people with direct personal lived experiences. (b) The provision of recreational activities, or the organisation of recreational activities to support those who are subject to the adverse effects of substance abuse, mental health, poverty and social isolation/deprivation, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the persons for whom the facilities or activities are primarily intended. In furtherance of the above, the organisation will: (c) Develop a community drop in space where free creative workshops will be offered to individuals who are experiencing disadvantage through impaired health, whether mental and/or physical and addiction to drugs and/or alcohol, along with providing social connection and partnership working with relevant organisation.
