02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Celebrate Aberdeen is a group of volunteers who come together to shine a spotlight on Aberdeen's city and Aberdeenshire's third sector and voluntary organisations and promote a sense of pride in this sector's achievements. This is done by organising an annual parade in Aberdeen city attended by over 100 organisations with 3500 people to celebrate charities and all voluntary groups efforts in the region. Celebrate Aberdeen also organise an annual awards dinner, with the help of local business and community organisations, this recognises and highlights achievements in the year of charities and those that volunteer therein. Overall the mission of Celebrate Aberdeen is to raise the profile of the area's third sector and give the people who work and volunteer within it the recognition they deserve.
