02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

To provide flexible and accessible community-led solutions in the village of Glenfarg and its surrounding area, in response to unmet local transport needs, so that residents can access services and employment in neighbouring towns. We currently have two main areas of operation. a) We run a scheduled public bus service 6 days per week running between Perth and Tillicoultry. This service is providing in the region of 2,000 passenger journeys per week. b) We run a Community Bus servicing the needs of local groups within our community along with the local primary school.

Constitutional objectives

Purposes 4 The organisation's purposes are: 4.1 To advance good citizenship and community development in Glenfarg and its surrounding area 4.2 To provide flexible and accessible community-led solutions in the village of Glenfarg and its surrounding area, in response to unmet local transport needs, so that residents can access services and employment in neighbouring towns 4.3 To promote the uptake and use of local public transport services by residents and encourage a move away from the use of private motor cars 4.4 To raise funds and acquire vehicles to be used by the community of Glenfarg so that a range of social and cultural activities can be enjoyed by its residents and provide a resource for local community groups 4.5 To co-operate and work with statutory and voluntary organisations having similar aims and objectives 4.6 To assist when requested by those engaged in the promotion of the welfare of the residents of Glenfarg and the other villages in Kinross-shire.
