02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

Our charity is set up to provide high quality drama and theatre arts experiences and community engagement through the arts to better the knowledge, wellbeing and social capital of its members. Productions and performances: They put on full shows such as pantomimes across their membership. For example, their first panto, Aladdin, was a sell-out and currently working on Tink and Snowwhite. Youth theatre & development: They run theatre groups (for ages 5-18+) where participants explore acting, performing, stagecraft, props, costumes, etc. Other theatre skills: Beyond acting, they involve people in things like set design, prop-making, makeup, costumes, possibly writing/directing. Community & accessibility focus: They aim to make theatre accessible to all, both for people wanting to perform and for audience members. They emphasise encouraging confidence and participation - there's a job for everyone at the players off stage and on.
