02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Provide a shed where members can meet socially to increase their wellbeing and combat loneliness and if they choose to participate in their own projects to design and produce a wide range of items such as hedgehog homes, bird boxes, benches, broaches, reindeer, candle holders etc. Training and supervision is provided in the use of a number of machines and processes to enlarge members knowledge and skills enabling them to participate in projects in the community such as building and installing benches throughout Dunbar, building and restoring activity pieces at local schools and parks. All aimed at reducing stress and improving mental health whilst improving local communities and generating sufficient funds to enable the shed to continue

Constitutional objectives
The purpose of the Organization is to provide recreational activities and advance the social needs, health and wellbeing of all members aged 18+ living in and around the Dunbar area By: a) Creating, developing and maintaining a facility, namely a Shed. b) Offering opportunities for members in and around Dunbar to meet and undertake creative, physical, purposeful and recreational activities of their choice. c) Reducing isolation of members in the area thus contributing to their physical and mental wellbeing. d) Developing the capacity of members in the Dunbar area to share their skills and knowledge with others in the community. e) Communicate and develop links with other similar groups, charities and organisations to assist each other to enhance the wellbeing of our members and help the groups achieve their aims
