02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

The charity was set up to help individuals access martial arts training, so that they may benefit from the physical and mental health benefits that comes from participating in sport. We do this by providing uniforms to those looking to participate in a martial art but who are unable to do so due to finical constraints with a Gi or other discipline specific uniform.

Constitutional objectives

The organisation will operate as a grant giving charity which will offer financial support to further its charitable purposes. The organisation purposes are: the advancement of public participation in sport and the relief of those in need by reason of age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage. The organisation will: 1) Provide access to Martial Arts clubs, organisations, and classes, by providing the individual with the mandatory uniform and equipment necessary to do so. 2) Highlight the need for this charity, and charities like it, within the local community and Martial Arts community as a whole. 3) Work alongside government entities to promote public health and participation in sport. 4) Liaise with Martial Arts clubs, organisations and classes to educate coaching and instructors on the barriers that may be faced by their current and potential client base, and promote the usage of our charity to further the above purposes.
