02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
To preserve historic family home of the Davidson family, The family emigrated to USA in 1857 and went on to be joint founders of iconic motorcycle brand Harley Davidson. Cottage is being developed and maintained as both a historical cultural & motorcycle heritage site to reflect what living in mid 1800's was like and demonstrate how emigration from Scotland and UK went on to influence innovation across the world.

4 The organisation's purposes are: 4.1 To purchase in whole, the property known as Netherton Cottage, Aberlemno, By Forfar, Angus, DD9 6SH. To purchase Netherton Cottage Development company Ltd. To purchase The Davidson Legacy Ltd. 4.2 Preserve, secure, and maintain the historical cottage to be available to all members of the public. 4.3 The advancement of education, in non-formal activities. 4.4 The advancement of citizenship or community development, enable and enhance community access to 'Davidson Legacy' long-term for tourism and leisure purposes. 4.5 The advancement of the arts, heritage, culture, or science, preserve 'Heritage' and promote the historical site for generations to come.
