02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

African Collaboration Group (ACG) works to improve the lives of African and other diverse communities across Scotland by creating opportunities for people to connect, learn and thrive. We organise inclusive community activities, cultural events, sports and recreational programmes that promote health, wellbeing and stronger social connections. We help reduce poverty by supporting people to access education, digital skills, employment opportunities and essential services. We celebrate African heritage while encouraging cultural exchange and community cohesion through arts, culture and community events. Our work promotes equality, diversity and inclusion by ensuring that people from all backgrounds, including refugees, migrants, young people, women and low-income families, can participate fully in community life. Through partnerships and community-led projects, we empower individuals, strengthen communities and help people build brighter, more independent futures.
