Constitutional objectives

The organization?s purposes are: To encourage and advance active citizenship and give a sense of civic pride within all sections of the community, through the making and presenting of radio programmes, podcasts and video content. to empower individuals by raising confidence and self-esteem, developing skills and investing trust, as well as combatting unemployment and social exclusion in our community. to provide training, work experience and volunteering opportunities for non-radio activities, such as administration, engineering, fundraising and so on. to provide free training in broadcasting and radio production for all adults and young people. to provide on-air discussion of local matters, local political matters and specialised community interests. to provide local news and local information for local people, including events calenders, news of upcoming road closures, public transport disrupton and so on. to provide entertainment that is accessible to the wider community, plus specialised programming for niche audiences and minroities. to advance community cohesion and development across all aspects of local activity by heavily promoting local events and local groups/organisations by re-introducing a local radio platform, in a time when other radio stations have become centralised and have removed opportunities for local groups and events to be promoted. to significantly advance the inclusion of minority groups in community activity and to include such groups in becoming better recognised in the area. to encourage and promote active volunteering across all sections and all generations of the population: To advance education through the provision of training for volunteers of all ages (for radio and non-radio roles), as well as providing free training in broadcasting and radio production, especially young people and those with physical or mental health issues and disabilities. to provide programming (including podcasts and video) about local history, local landmarks and local interests, with an emphasis on celebrating Lanarkshire's industrial heritage and its significance in the creation of the industrial revolution, as well as inventions that we use in everyday life and the period of Scottish Enlightenment. to include the involvement of local schools, schoolchildren and teachers in the making of educational programs and podcasts for schools and the wider community. to involve local historians and local experts in the making of programs about the area's heritage and culture. To raise awareness of and encourage participation in local and national heritage and to advance local culture. to provide a platform that showcases local talent (including storytellers, musicians, comedians, writers drama groups, etc) to be put on the air and/or be available as podcasts or videos via streaming players and social media. To be a voice for other charities within the Lanarkshire area with free promotion.
