To provide opportunities to sail on a traditional sailing boat for people who may otherwise be excluded from doing so.

4 The charity's purposes are: 4.1 To advance the education of the public by supporting and enabling access to the traditional sailing vessel, Provident, as an example of Britain's maritime and industrial heritage.(charitable purpose(b)) 4.2 The advancement of the arts, heritage, culture and science by supporting and enabling public access to the traditional sailing vessel, Provident - a 1924 Brixham Trawler - as an example of Britain's maritime and industrial heritage. (charitable purpose (g)) 4.3 To provide and assist in the provision of facilities for recreation and leisure time occupation in the interests of social welfare, in particular the provision of facilities for sailing and training in sailing, for individuals who have need of such facilities by reason of their youth, age, infirmity or disability, financial hardship or social circumstances with the object of improving their conditions of life. (charitable purpose (i))
