02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
The Arran Mountain Festival is set up as a community led, not for profit programme of ability graded walks, runs and navigation sessions in Arran's mountains and countryside. There is a core focus on the four day annual festival held each May. Throughout the year there are occasional social, educational, training and fundraising events to promote participation and community involvement. Further details are given in The Trustees Annual Report completed by the committee chairman. The Reserve Fund has been discussed as was proposed in the Oct 23-Sept 24 Annual Report and further donations in keeping with the aims of A.M.F. are being made to the Arran Outdoor Education Centre and the Arran Youth Foundation to further support young people in accessing Arran's outdoor spaces. These will be included in the Annual Return Oct 25-Sept 26. The A.M.F. Financial Year runs from 1 October to 30 September. The accounts submitted are from 1/10/24-30/09/25. The title should reflect this.
