02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

Montrose Baptist Fellowship is a small church on the northern area of Montrose. It provides Sunday worship services and seeks to spread the Christian message in Montrose and the surrounding area. During the week meetings are held for prayer and Bible study, groups for women and men, and twice monthly a Community Cafe is held which is supported from across the town, including a Friendship group and residents of a Care Home. Volunteers are mainly from the church, but include some from a neighbouring facility for adults needing support. There is a connection with the local primary school and as a polling station for the local authority. The Fellowship also supports other charities linked mainly to Christian causes elsewhere in Scotland and farther afield, and to projects such as the local Foodbank.
