02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

No Cost Participation underpins everything PKDS do meaning our weekly sessions, events, education and training programmes are delivered free of charge to all. We continue to support our disability specific sports clubs, Perth Eagles Wheelchair sports and Boccia Club and Perth Dolphins disability swim club to attract new members and provide specialist adaptive equipment as well as working with 54 community sports clubs in Perth & Kinross to support them to be inclusive for people with disabilities. We deliver a comprehensive events calendar across a wide range of sports and deliver an education programme to support coaches and volunteers to be more inclusive.

4 The organisation?s purposes are: 4.1 The advancement of public participation in inclusive sport and physical activity for people with a learning, physical or sensory disability by developing meaningful local opportunities within the Perth & Kinross local authority area. 4.2 the advancement of health and wellbeing to inspire people with a disability to lead active, healthier lives by encouraging them to take part in active recreation activities. 4.3 The advancement of education through the provision and development of appropriate opportunities that encourage participation, coaching and training in recreational and competitive sports. to support local clubs to develop such opportunities. and to support local partnerships and initiatives prioritising resources for sports education and training.
