02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

Volunteers are organised around sub-committees to research and present themes for the area. So far we have held presentations on 'Bridges', Jacobites buried at Dunlichity and also 'Gaelic place names of Strathnairn. Currently we are researching on 'Churches', 'Schools' as well as recording the stories from elderly natives of the Glen.

Constitutional objectives

4.1 to create an archive of and for the community of the Strathnairn area. 4.2 to advance education for the community of Strathnairn and for the public in general and in furtherance thereof: 4.2a to collate material for publication, exhibition or other agreed purposes 4.2b to promote and safeguard the heritage of Strathnairn and environs 4.3 in pursuing the charitable purposes, to undertake such enabling activities, including assessing the need for, advocating for, providing advice for, and the execution of plans for accommodating the heritage of Strathnairn and environs
