02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
The Charity provides workshops developing comedy writing and performance skills free of charge to schools in the locality of the three Stand Comedy Club venues i.e. Edinburgh and Lothians, Glasgow and the West of Scotland and Newcastle and the North East of England. Workshops are delivered in formal and informal education settings, and each project culminates in a live performance at the nearest of The Stand Comedy Club's venues in front of an audience of peers, friends and families. In addition to the development of skills in creative writing and performance the projects develop the participants’ self-confidence and collaborative working skills.
