02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Balbirnie’s Future Foundation supports community wellbeing and environmental stewardship through outdoor activity in Balbirnie Park. We deliver regular sessions for young people, families and the wider community, with a focus on those experiencing disadvantage, including mental health challenges, social isolation, or barriers to engagement in traditional settings. Our activities include outdoor wellbeing sessions, conservation work such as litter reduction and planting, and opportunities to learn practical skills in a supportive environment. We work in partnership with local organisations, schools and council services, and involve volunteers and young people in shaping and delivering activity. Our aim is to improve wellbeing, build confidence and skills, and support long-term care and positive use of the park as a shared community asset.
