02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Killin Sports & Recreation Hub is a community-led charity that exists to improve health, wellbeing and quality of life for people living in and visiting Killin and the surrounding rural area. We do this by creating, managing and opening up shared spaces where people of all ages can be active, learn and connect. We manage the Killin Sports Pavilion on Main Street on behalf of the community, keeping it open as a base for local clubs, groups and events. We have developed the Killin Sensory and Community Garden, a free, accessible space for growing, relaxation and intergenerational projects led by local young people. We are also delivering a pump track and marked forest trails to give children and young people somewhere safe and exciting to ride. Our work is run by local volunteers. We listen to what the community needs, secure funding from partners such as Stirling Council and CLLD, and work with other local organisations to make Killin a healthier, more connected place to live.
