Constitutional objectives

2.1 The Society’s purpose shall be to advance, promote and support the study, appreciation and preservation of the antiquities, history, archaeology and natural history of East Lothian. 2.2 Through doing so, the Society shall aim to encourage and strengthen interest in the heritage, history, arts, culture and natural science of East Lothian. 2.3 The purpose shall be carried out through the Society’s activities or services, either acting on its own or in partnership with other persons or bodies holding similar purposes as the Society.
