02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Fife Creative Studios has ambitious aims to engage the community in the exciting world of film, building skills and providing experiences in a field that is often seen as exclusionary. We believe that anyone with a passion for film, or creative aspirations of any kind, should have the opportunity to take part, learn, and grow. To achieve these aims, we host workshops and networking events, and engage participants in supported film production projects.

Constitutional objectives
The organisation’s purposes are: (a) The advancement of arts and culture by promoting engagement with filmmaking and film-related activities in Scotland by producing high-quality films and audiovisual content with the participation of the community. (b) The advancement of education, by providing training opportunities to the community via hands-on workshops on the artistic and technical aspects of filmmaking. (c) The provision of recreational activities, such as film screenings, festivals, and networking events which are accessible to all to encourage local engagement with arts and culture, and enhance quality of life for all those involved. (d) The advancement of community development by fostering a vibrant cultural scene with a focus on independent filmmaking, creating opportunities to get involved with film in an area where such endeavours are difficult to access. (e) Providing assistance to relevant projects with similar purposes, by promoting and/or supporting other synergistic initiatives or activities for the benefit of the general public, as the trustees deem appropriate.
