Constitutional objectives

1.1 The advancement of the Christian faith and religion. reflecting the Christian ethos of the YMCA through programme and actions and promoting understanding of other faiths and religions. 1.2 To advance educational opportunities for the community, particularly young people and families, through a programme of activities and discussion, promoting the development of citizenship and health. 1.3 The advancement of community development the provision of stimulating and challenging opportunities for children and young people and volunteers in order to encourage them achieve their fullest potential and give service to the local community. 1.4 The advancement of heritage through the preservation of 145 Main Street, Wishaw and the delivery of programmes that relate to the heritage of the site, the people and rich past of the building by encouraging the local community to get involved int eh process, product development and storytelling. 1.5 The provision of recreational facilities, and the organisation of recreational activities and sports with the object of improving the conditions of life for the person for whom the facilities or activities are primarily intended - helping them to reach their fullest potential in body, mind and spirit. 1.6 The relief of those in need by reason of age, ill health, disability, financial, hardship or other disadvantage including the provision of food and other basic needs that contribute to the prevention and relief of poverty.
