02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
GAMSCA is established to promote citizenship, community development, education, cultural heritage, equality, diversity, and racial harmony within Scotland. We work to preserve and celebrate our cultural heritage while encouraging integration and mutual understanding with Scottish society and other communities. We achieve our charitable purposes through a range of community activities, including our annual Cultural Week celebration, which brings together people from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds to share traditions, arts, music, and educational experiences. This event promotes cultural awareness, social inclusion, and community cohesion. In addition, we deliver community development programmes and projects supported by local funders. These initiatives provide opportunities for skills development, education, volunteering, and community engagement, helping individuals and families to participate fully in society while fostering equality, diversity, and positive relationsh
