02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Collect food through supermarkets, just on their best before or use by date and give away through our rented premises to members of the public. The aim of this is to redistribute food still very edible, instead of being binned and going to landfill. With the contribution of volunteers time to collect the food and also to serve in the larder.

Constitutional objectives
1 The organisation?s purposes are: (a) the advancement of environmental protection or improvement, (b) the advancement of citizenship or community development through the establishment and operation of one or more community food larders in Kelso and surrounding district. The community larder(s) will distribute to members of the public, food which would otherwise be discarded by food retailers, with the aim or reducing food waste.
