02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

Friendship – Providing compassionate support to the Secondary Breast Cancer community both online and in person. This includes dedicated peer-to-peer support and counselling services for families affected by a loved one’s diagnosis, ensuring no one faces the journey alone. Financial Support – Offering two means-tested grants each year, in summer and winter, alongside a discretionary function to assist individuals facing exceptional financial hardship due to Secondary Breast Cancer. Fighting to be Heard – Driving vital awareness of Secondary Breast Cancer and championing campaigns that push for improved services, equitable care, and better access to life-extending drugs.

Purposes 4 The organisation's purposes are: 4.1 the advancement of health and the relief of those in need by reason of age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage, as a result of secondary breast cancer. 4.2 for the purposes of benefitting the public and in particular, through education relating to secondary breast cancer. 4.3 financial support, for individuals or family members of individuals suffering from secondary breast cancer. 4.4 the advancement of health for individuals suffering from secondary breast cancer. 4.5 by developing and assisting the treatment of individuals suffering from secondary breast cancer. 4.6 for the benefit of such one or more Charity or Charities as the Trustees in their unfettered discretion may decide. or for the implementation or assistance in implementing any Charitable Purpose or purposes as the Trustees in their unfettered discretion may decide in furtherance of supporting those with secondary breast cancer.
