02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Lochaber Pride is a community-led charity that promotes equality, inclusion, wellbeing and visibility for LGBTQ+ people across Lochaber and the Highlands. We exist to reduce isolation, challenge discrimination and help create communities where everyone feels safe, respected and able to be themselves. We achieve this by delivering Pride events, educational activities, youth engagement, community outreach and partnership projects with schools, businesses, public services and voluntary organisations. Our activities provide opportunities for people to connect, access support, celebrate diversity and build understanding between different groups within the community. We are committed to making all our events accessible, welcoming and inclusive through appropriate accessibility measures, safeguarding practices and volunteer support. By bringing people together and increasing awareness, we help build stronger, more connected and more inclusive communities for everyone.
