02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
To work with the local community and with the City Council and other local organisations to maintain and improve the Gyle Park as a local community facility for all age groups and a wide range of interests. We raise funds to fund our activities and recruit volunteers to carry out a range of rasks in partnership with the Park Rangers andParks Department in general.

Constitutional objectives
4. Purposes The organisations purposes are. To promote the benefit of the inhabitants of the Gyle and its environs without distinction of sex, sexuality, political, religious or other opinions by associating the local statutory authorities, voluntary organisations and inhabitants in a common effort to advance education and to provide facilities, or assist in the provision of facilities, in the interest of social welfare for recreation and other leisure-time occupation so that their conditions of life may be improved. In furtherance of this object but not otherwise, the Friends shall seek: (a) to help to preserve, conserve and protect the area known as Gyle Park for the benefit of users and the general public (b) to preserve and protect the environment of Gyle Park, its plants and other nature, amenities, paths, signs etc. i) developing the amenities of Gyle Park for leisure and recreation. ii) improving access, tidiness and safety of Gyle Park. iii) promoting the involvement in the development of Gyle Park of local individuals, groups, organisations and businesses. iv) to advocate on behalf of the community and Gyle Park users with regard to future developments of Gyle Park.
