02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

Our aim is to build a helipad that can be used for healthcare transporting patients from the Isle of Arran to the mainland for urgent medical treatment.

Constitutional objectives

4 The organisation’s purposes are: (a) The Arran Helipad will be for the transportation of the ill and infirm between the healthcare facilities on Arran and mainland UK, (b) In addition other appropriate craft may land at the Arran Helipad in the event of a non-health related emergency To fulfil these purposes, the Arran Emergency Services Helipad SCIO will: (i) Lease or own a suitable site on Arran for the operation of a helipad. (ii) Oversee the construction, operation and maintenance of the helipad and associated facilities. (iii) Raise and hold funds to enable the above activities to be carried out. This will fulfil the following charitable purposes: 1. The advancement of health, 2. The saving of lives
