Constitutional objectives

To provide financial assistance for the benefit of the public, in particular: 1. The advancement of education, research and training 2. The promotion of community participation and healthy recreation 3. To provide or assist in the provision of facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation or other leisure time occupation of individuals who have need of such facilities by reason of their youth, age, infirmity or disability, financial hardship or social circumstances with object of improving their conditions of life. 4. To promote humane behaviour towards animals by providing appropriate care, protection, treatment and security for animals which are in need of care and attention by reason of sickness, maltreatment, poor circumstances or ill usage and to educate the public in matters pertaining to animal welfare in general and the prevention of cruelty and suffering among animals. 5. To promote the preservation of rare and endangered species in their natural habitat and their protection from extinction for the public benefit. and 6. the relief of poverty
