What the charity exists to do

Uppertunity is a Dundee-based charity dedicated to empowering individuals to lead fuller, more meaningful lives. We work with people aged 16 and over with additional support needs, learning disabilities, autism, and mental health barriers. Our mission is to create safe, supportive, and creative spaces that foster growth, equality, and togetherness. We want people to explore their potential, build confidence, and develop life skills that promote independence and connection. Through a range of activities, we support: personal development. confidence and resilience. social connection. and transferable life skills. Activities include weekly workshops, events, skill development, and diversity awareness.

Constitutional objectives

4.The company's objects are to support individuals from vulnerable and isolated groups to improve mental and physical wellbeing, and help build confidence and develop purpose. In furtherance of this the company will: 4.1. provide a holistic, bespoke training and support service to assist individuals from vulnerable and isolated groups in realising their potential, whilst developing life and employability skills 4.2. set up and run other community�based services including a cafe to improve amenities for the community whilst providing opportunities for skills development for individuals from vulnerable and isolated groups 4.3. provide a holistic horticulture based service to provide real life opportunities for skills development for assist individuals from vulnerable and isolated groups 4.4. improve the health of those involved by using the benefits of volunteering and horticulture to educate on mental and physical health 4.5. to advance public education in all matters relating to individuals with additional needs and barrier, and to support the eradication of the stigma attaching to individuals with learning disabilities, autism and mental health barriers 4.6. advance such similar purposes, develop any other projects, initiatives or activities for the benefit of the community as the Directors may consider appropriate
