02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Dunbar Music Festival exists to advance arts and culture by organising an inclusive annual music festival in Dunbar. We aim to make live music accessible to a wide audience, showcase local and emerging talent, and bring established artists to the town. We deliver a programme of performances across pubs, hotels, community spaces and other local venues, with most events free to attend alongside a small number of ticketed headline shows. We also work with local organisations and community groups, provide opportunities for young and developing musicians, and run activities such as busking and family-friendly events. The festival also aims to attract visitors to Dunbar and support the local economy.

Constitutional objectives
The Organisation has been formed to benefit the community of Dunbar and nearby towns (the ?Community?), with the following purpose (the ?Purpose?): The advancement of the arts by organising an inclusive annual celebration of quality music and local talent. Our goal is to deliver a varied weekend of music, bringing the community together and attracting visitors to Dunbar.
