02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Dalgety Community Trust founded in 2019 by local volunteers with a shared mission: to make Dalgety Bay a better place for everyone. By delivering community-led projects that reflect local priorities, we empower residents to take action and create lasting, positive change. In 2022, we took ownership of land in the town centre and 3 community woodlands from our local Community Council—laying the foundation for our flagship vision: to develop a new, vibrant, multi-purpose community hub, designed by and for the people of Dalgety Bay. Committed to sustainability and community benefit, we also drive other exciting initiatives, including developing a free to use, open-access pump track in partnership with local young people, and the Dalgety Heritage Trail—bringing the town’s rich history to life. The Trust is a member led organisation with membership open to everyone in the local community council area the Trust serves. The current membership (April 2024) of the Trust is around 230.
