02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
The Moffat Golf Club (SCIO) is established to advance public participation in sport by providing affordable access to golf and maintaining a high-quality golf course and clubhouse for the benefit of members, visitors and the wider community. We achieve this by managing and developing our golf course and associated facilities, offering a programme of competitions and events, supporting junior participation through coaching and development initiatives, and working with Scottish Golf and other organisations to promote the sport. We are committed to making golf accessible to people of all ages and abilities and to encouraging long-term participation in a welcoming and inclusive environment. In addition to our sporting activities, we promote the clubhouse as a community resource, supporting local groups, events and charitable activities.

Constitutional objectives
The organisations purposes are: The advancement of public participation in sport And in furtherance of above it shall do the following: Maintain and manage the golf course and clubhouse at Moffat. Work together with other agencies to promote and develop the sport of golf within the club. Provide affordable membership for all who wish to partake in the game of golf and promote golf for Juniors as a valuable community amenity.
